Establishment of Special Provisions to Criteria Pertaining to the Status of Residence of “Engineer” and “Designated Activities” under the Ministerial Ordinance to Provide for Criteria Pursuant to Article 7, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act

(Public Notice of the Ministry of Justice No. 579 of 2001) Latest amendment: Public Notice of the Ministry of Justice No. 30 of January 25, 2008 The examinations on information processing technology which are designated under the proviso of the right-hand column of "Activities" listed in the right-hand column of "Engineer" of Appended Table I (2) of the Ministerial Ordinance to Provide for Criteria Pursuant to Article 7, paragraph 1 (2) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act (Ministry of Justice Ordinance No. 16, 1990) and designated under the proviso of the right-hand column of "Authorized Activities" listed in the right-hand column of "Designated Activities" (limited to the part pertaining to b) of Appended Table I (5) shall be those designated in the following items 1 to 3 and 6 to 11, and the qualifications on information processing technology shall be those designated in the following items 4 and 5: 1 The following examinations among those which are listed in the left-hand column of the Table of the Ministerial Ordinance to Provide for Classification of the Information Technology Engineers Examination (Ministry of International Trade and Industry Ordinance, No. 47, 1997): Systems Analyst Examination Project Manager Examination Application Systems Engineer Examination Software Design & Development Engineer Examination Network Systems Engineer Examination Database Systems Engineer Examination Systems Management Engineer Examination Embedded Systems Development Engineer Examination Information Security Engineer Examination Information Systems Security Administrator Examination Senior Systems Administrator Examination Systems Auditor Examination Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination 2 The following information technology engineers examinations which were implemented by the Minister of International Trade and Industry on or before October 15, 2000: Class I Information Technology Engineer Examination Class II Information Technology Engineer Examination Systems Engineer Examination Systems Auditor Examination Online Systems Engineer Examination Network Specialist Examination Systems Operation Management Engineer Examination Software Design & Production Engineer Examination Database Specialist Examination Microcomputer Application Systems Design Engineer Examination 3 The following information technology engineers examinations which were implemented by the Minister of International Trade and Industry on or before October 20, 1996: Class I Information Technology Engineer Certificate Examination Class II Information Technology Engineer Certificate Examination Systems Analyst Examination Systems Auditor Examination Application Systems Design Engineer Examination Project Manager Examination Senior Systems Administrator Examination 4 Certified IT Project Manager (CITPM) certified by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) 5 The following qualifications certified by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea: Engineer Information Processing Industrial Engineer Information Processing 6 The following examinations which were conducted by the Electronics Education Center of Information Industry Ministry, People’s Republic of China on or before December 31, 2003: System Analyst (系統分析員) Software Engineer (高級程序員) Programmer (程序員) 6-2 The following examinations which are conducted by the Electronic Education Center of Information Industry Ministry, People’s Republic of China: System Analyst (系統分析師) Software Designer Engineer (軟件設計師) Network Engineer (網絡工程師) Database System Engineer (数据庫系統工程師) Programmer (程序員) 7 The Fundamental Information Technology Engineers Examination which was conducted by the Japanese Information Technology Standards Examination - Philippines Foundation (JITSE Phil) on or before August 30, 2004 7-2 The Fundamental Information Technology Engineers Examination which is conducted by the Philippine National IT Standards Foundation (PhilNITS) 8 The following examinations which are conducted by the Vietnam Information Technology Examination and Training Support Center (VITEC): Fundamental Information Technology Engineers Examination Software Design and Development Engineers Examination 9 The Fundamental Information Technology Engineers Examination which is conducted by the Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF): 10 The following examinations which are conducted by the Institute for Information Industry (III): Software Design and Development IT Expert Examination (軟体設計専業人員試験) Network Communication IT Expert Examination (網路通訊専業人員試験) Information System Security IT Expert Examination (資訊安全管理専業人員試験) 11 The Fundamental Information Technology Professional Examination which is conducted by the Multimedia Technology Enhancement Operations Sdn Bhd (METEOR) Supplementary Provisions This notification shall come into force as from the date of promulgation. Supplementary Provisions (Public Notice of the Ministry of Justice No. 495 of October 24, 2006) This notification shall come into force as from the date (November 24, 2006) of enforcement of the provision stipulated in Article 1, item (i) of the supplementary provisions of the Law for Partial Revision of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act (Law No. 43 of 2006).
